Lopes Win Big at Area Track Meet

The Abernathy Lopes and Lady Lopes competed in the area track meet at Abernathy, TX on April 20th. The Lady Lopes were the area runner-ups and the Lopes were the area champions. Click on this article to see more pictures and results.

Macias Heads to State UIL

Alesia Macias earned the regional champion spot in extemporaneous speaking at the regional UIL competition. She will head to the state competition in Austin, Texas on May 22nd and 23rd. Congrats to Alesia!

Elementary takes on GEAR Robotics Competition

Abernathy Elementary Robotics team competed in the GEAR Robotics competition on Saturday, April 8th at Texas Tech University. Twelve students consisting of Sam Schueler, Jada Reyes, Jaime Martinez, Brendan Gallion, Yza Nieque Hood, Alan Macias, Hamilton Anderson, Carson Curry, Noah Rigler, Lily Martinez, Kennedy Glen, and Elyse Taubert competed against 136 other teams from across the state. One Abernathy team (Alan Macias, Noah Rigler, Lily Martinez) advanced to finals scoring a total of 240 points. They will compete on April 29th at Texas Tech University.
