High School Band

July 15, 2020

Antelope Band Members:

What a year 2020 has been!!! We missed finishing out the year with you and are excited to start a new year. With that in mind, please note that all summer band dates are subject to change in accordance with current UIL regulations. We want to get you schedules as soon as possible so you can plan those last minute get-aways, work schedules, etc., but we have also been waiting to see what new adventures the state has presented! As new details about what is allowable become available, updates will be available on the band website and Facebook. You will also get a Remind
notification. Please join the remind group (listed in this letter) as soon as possible to avoid missing any important information. A band events schedule is included. Please make sure you keep the contest and performance dates clear. If there is a question, please contact Mr. Knight as soon as possible—298-4904 (school) or 778-6258 (cell).

Please read each schedule carefully.

STUDENTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO HAVE A MASK TO ENTER THE BAND HALL. Rehearsals are going to look a little different (thank you, Covid), so students will need to be adaptable and follow procedures as they come down from UIL. This could change day-to-day. The directors will stay on top of it and keep you informed. We are committed to doing EVERYTHING IN OUR POWER to keep you safe and to have a great "band family” experience.

WORK DAY—HELP NEEDED:
Anyone interested in helping sort horns, copy music, etc., Thursday, July 30, and Friday, July 31, 9:00-3:00. Come for an hour or two or stay the whole day. Free help is NEVER turned down!!!!! Again, anyone who wants to help is welcome. Bring your talents; we’ll put you to work! WE HAVE TO BE READY TO GO BY THE 3rd for our new marchers, SO COME READY TO WORK FAST! We will finish getting everything ready for the masses after our new-marcher session on Monday afternoon.

TWIRLERS:
Mrs. Liess should be in touch with you about twirling camp. We will contact you if anything varies from that.
