Our Community

Abernathy ISD alumni, Miguel Lopez, created this video to showcase our community and Friday night energy. It features many reasons why being an Abernathy Antelope is a great experience.

Our Facilities

Abernathy ISD now has some of the best and most modern facilities on the South Plains. The November 2023 Bond Election resulted in security upgrades and facility renovations as well as new football field turf totaling $3,350,000 million dollars. Abernathy Elementary completed a $12 million renovation and expansion project in 2013. The High School built new classrooms, a gym, a field house, a vocational agricultural facility, and a renovation which was completed in 2011 for $14 million. Abernathy Middle School underwent a $3.5 million renovation in 2005
We Are A 1:1 District

The school district has approximately 275 Windows computers and over 1000 Chromebooks. As of the 2020-21 school year every AISD student has a Chromebook device, and we have enough equipment to support quality virtual learning at home as needed. The district is connected to the Internet by way of a 500 Mbps fiber connection through ESC Region 17. Computer assisted instruction is available for designated core academic subjects. All campuses have Wi-Fi coverage through the E-Rate Program, and we are in the process of extending that to busses so that students can use transportation time to complete homework assignments.
