On Saturday, October 19, the Abernathy Band competed at the UIL Region 16 marching Contest.
The Antelope Band received a "Superior Rating" and advanced to the Area A marching contest next weekend. There is only one other band that advanced to the Area contest from region 16 this past weekend. The Area contest will be made up of bands from Music Regions 1,6,16 and 22.
Please congratulate the students on all their hard work. They truly earned this one. We also ask for your continued support as we advanced to the next level! Our number one goal is to represent Abernathy ISD with our continued "Commitment to Excellence"
Thanks to Trisha Burrell, Anna Jo Knight, Cheri Liess, and Tobie Sherrill for their great teaching and leadership. There is not a better group to work with. A special thanks to Wendy Simmons for helping us add our " human props" to our show. They have done great.
A special thanks to all of the parents and students that were in Lubbock to support us Saturday. That was amazing! Abernathy is a special community and everyone there saw why on Saturday!
