DSHS to conduct survey of Hale County residents for disaster preparedness (2023)

DSHS staff and volunteers will go door to door in parts of the county Oct. 19
to 21 to interview residents about disaster preparedness, emergency
response, water conservation, food safety, and mosquito prevention. The
results of the survey will help Hale County leaders gauge how prepared the
county is for disaster and what steps they can take to help improve
readiness, prevent illness, and save lives in an emergency.

Neighborhoods will be randomly selected for the survey. Interviewers can be
identified by their ID cards and the public health vests they will be wearing.
Each interview takes about 15 minutes. Participation is optional, and all
responses are confidential. People who choose to participate will provide
important information that can be used to help make Hale County a safer
and more secure place for all residents.

People with questions about the survey can contact DSHS at 806-516-3250
or send an email to [email protected].
