Local High School Football Stars Commit to Play College Football

Both players have been integral to the Antelope’s football team, with their on-field
performances making them highly sought-after recruits. Kelton finished his senior
season with 107 pancakes, 97% blocking grade, and zero sacks allowed. Meanwhile,
Jackson posted 58 tackles (14 for a loss), seven sacks, and four forced fumbles.
The commitment letters come after months of recruiting, where both athletes visited
various campuses. Their decisions were not only based on athletic opportunities but
also the academic programs at their respective schools.

“I’ve been dreaming of playing college football since I was a kid,” said Kelton Carver. “To
see all the hard work pay off and to have the opportunity to play at the next level is a
dream come true. I’m thankful for all the support from my teammates, coaches, and
family.”

Jackson Arrington shared similar sentiments, stating, “As I go on to this new journey, I
want to thank everyone who has supported me and helped me get to where I am today.
I couldn’t have done it without you all and I am beyond grateful. Thank you to God, my
coaches, my teammates and my family.”

Both athletes expressed gratitude to their high school coaches, who have played a
pivotal role in shaping their careers. Head Coach Justin Wiley spoke highly of both
players, noting their leadership, dedication, and commitment to excellence on and off
the field.

The signing ceremony was a proud moment for Abernathy High School and their
families, as these two young athletes prepare for the next chapter of their football
journey. Their commitments serve as a reminder of the importance of hard work,
dedication, and the power of sport to transform lives.

As Kelton and Jackson head off to college, they will continue to inspire future
generations of football players at AHS and beyond, showing that with passion and
perseverance, dreams really can come true.
