A Message From Our Superintendent Aaron Waldrip (3/13/2020)

The top priority of Abernathy ISD is student safety. We are closely monitoring concerns regarding the coronavirus, COVID-19.

Currently, there is no indication of an immediate threat to the Abernathy community.

Class, as well as extracurricular activities, remain in place for now.

We have increased the level of cleaning throughout the district and we will continue to focus efforts on disinfecting during Spring Break. After Spring Break, we anticipate the return of students and staff on March 23, under normal operation, unless otherwise mandated by the Texas Education Agency, the Texas Commissioner of Education, or Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

We will continue communication with local and state healthcare providers, and keep student safety at the forefront of all decisions. Stay tuned and have a great Spring Break!
